Happy with stuff?
"Most of us experience financial pressure on an ongoing basis, and we fantasize that having more money would relieve that pressure. This is a grand cultural delusion.
Let me assure you that the more money you have, the more pressure you’re likely to feel.
The key is not the mere pursuit of wealth, but changing your beliefs and attitudes about it so you see it as a means for contribution, not the end-all and be-all for happiness."
— Anthony Robbins
Financial pressure, every one knows what it is. Those that don't, they're not using a computer.
We're living in a society that ask from us to be among the pack. To do so, we need to buy stuff, lots of stuff. But the stuff are not making us happier. Stuff is just stuff, there's no happiness into it. You can't buy happiness. You have to choose to be happy no matter what you have and don't have.
We're so stuck with this idea that stuff can make us happy that we teach it to our children. Creating a new generation of buyers. A new generation of unhappy people that will buy stuff.
I'm a fan of the movie "Fight Club". Not because of the violence, but because of the philosophy about stuff in it. That movie is a wake-up call that most of us didn't understood. Look further the violence and you'll see what I'm talking about. Our happiness should not depend on stuff.

Serge, you've done it again. Just a terrific post.
"It is a cultural delusion". Perfectly put by Mr. Robbins, and amplified by you!
Thanks a lot Tom. :)
