Are you doing more
then what you have already done? If not, is it because you think you can’t or
because you don’t want to invest the energy?
If you want to do
more, then you only need to do plus one. That’s it. You don’t need to do more
then plus one. And you should keep it growing slowly instead of trying to make it
grow in one day.
In our society of
production and performance, we feel the pressure to do everything in one shot.
As when your boss asks that you do the job faster because he wants it for
yesterday…
Doing it that way will
only destroy the drive and energy that you have. When everyday is only job and
more job, even if you like what you do, you end up burned up and wasted to do
anything more. Some company (that I will not name) are doing just that, they
put so much pressure to perform on their work force that they have a high rate of
experienced worker leaving their company. Those company ends up burning their
entire most experienced worker. They think that they can put anyone on that chair
and that it will all go well. But the reality is not so nice; they end up with
a bad reputation with less qualified worker willing to come working for them.
Doing more is good
when it’s built around a dare. Yes, you just need to dare your worker to do a
little more. Not for the company, but for themselves. Yes, plus one is all
about the person who’s doing it for themselves.
Some would say that
you should do this everyday. Me, I would suggest to do it every week. Start
with a plus one per week.
