What you
perceive and what I perceive can be different in so many ways. It’s not a
question of the truth, but a question of perception.
The truth
is different for each of us.
“There are no facts, only interpretations.”
- Friedrich Nietzsche
Perception stimuli are not kept pure. Our own knowledge will influence what we perceive and how we understand it. Our mind is also a powerful filter. According to our choices, our mind will filter the information in relation with what we choose.
You can change the filter if you want
to.
“We should not pretend to understand the world only by the intellect. The
judgment of the intellect is only part of the truth.”
- Carl Jung
Don’t pretend to know the truth. You only know the truth resulted from your filter. So, don’t try to tell others what is the truth, you only have your truth.
Science found out that there’s
occurrence that will give different result if you look at them or not. Only the
fact that there’s an observer will change the result.
It’s always better to listen to what
others have to say before you try to convince them that they are wrong. In the
end, you could end up with a different vision as good as yours.
